Sustainable development
Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs
Food miles
the distance food has travelled to get to your plate
Carbon footprint
the total amount of greenhouse gases (including carbon dioxide and methane) that are generated by our actions
Carbon offsetting
Carbon offsets are tradable “rights” or certificates linked to activities that lower the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere.
Carbon neutral
Carbon neutrality means having a balance between emitting carbon and absorbing carbon from the atmosphere in carbon sinks
Climate change
Climate change refers to significant changes in global temperature, precipitation, wind patterns and other measures of climate that occur over several decades or longer.
