Prayer (including notes, article and videos)
Prayer is how we communicate and connect with God. Like any relationship, a strong bond with God requires regular and meaningful communication, which prayer provides.
The Stations of Cross (history, meaning, info about specific stations, virtual Stations of the Cross)
Many early christians would go on pilgrimages(religious journeys) to Jerusalem and they would retrace the final journey of Jesus
It was very difficult to make this journey and many were unable to. Thus, Christians developed the practice of praying and reflecting as they went through 14 representations of the event immediately surrounding Christ’s death
This is called “the stations of the cross” and pictures, statues or plaques representing them can be found in almost every catholic church
It is especially common to practice the stations of the cross during the season of lent, as we prepare for Good Friday and Easter
The Rosary (History, structure, meaning, the Mysteries of the Rosary)
Rosary is a form of structure of prayer using beads and the early christians used stones and ropes to keep track. Joyful,sorrowful, glorious and Luminous mysteries
Sacraments (what they are, names of sacraments, types of sacraments)
Sacrament of intion: where people are accepted into the church which includes Baptism, holy communion and confirmation
Sacrament of Healing: When anointing of the sick and reconciliation
Sacrament of vocation celebrate our commitment to God : Marriage and holy orders
Eucharist
This Sacrament lets us interact with Jesus in a direct way and is the core pf our faith
Reconciliation
When we sin we offend God. This damages our connection to him as well as our connection to his Church
Thus, we require a way to seek reconnection with God and with his Church when we have committed sin
This is where the Sacrament of Reconciliation comes in
Anointing of the Sick
Through special prayer the priest puts illness and suffering of sick people to God
The Our Father/Lord’s Prayer and its specific meaning
how we are all children of God, glorify his name, we will inherit his kingdom
