Collocations with ‘goal’:
The most common verbs to use with the word ‘goal’ are ‘set’ for when we create goals
and ‘reach’ or ‘achieve’ for successfully completing the goal:
We have set a short-term goal to increase productivity by 50% this year.
We reached / achieved our goal of increasing productivity by 50% last year.
Future forms
Will: To talk about actions in the future, to make predictions…
Ex: I will buy a new car! He will be a good lawyer!
Going to: To talk about something that will happen soon.
Ex: I’m going to play soccer tonight!
Prepositions of time
For: when you specify the period of time.
Ex: I’ve been married for 10 years.
Since: When you specify the starting point. (Unfinished action)
Ex: I’ve been married since 2010.
From: When you specify the starting point and the end point.
Ex: I’m home from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Comparative - 1 or 2 syllables
Double the last consonant +
