What does it mean to be informed on civic issues?
Includes info being informed to the people. For example, voting, being involved, using their rights.
What does it mean to obey the law?
To act according to what you have been asked or ordered to do by someone in authority
What does it mean to pay your taxes?
To pay an amount of money to the government so it can pay for public services
What does it mean to respect the rights of others?
Civil rights are rights that protect the individual rights of citizens and are protected by the government
What does it mean to serve jury duty?
You have the responsibility to contribute to a verdict in a legal case
What does it mean to serve in the military?
Military service is service by an individual or group in an army or other militia, whether as a chosen job (volunteer) or as a result of an involuntary draft (conscription).
What does it mean to volunteer and do community service?
Community service is unpaid work performed by a person or group of people for the benefit and betterment of their community without any form of compensation
What does it mean to vote?
Voting is a method for a group, such as a meeting or an electorate, in order to make a collective decision or express an opinion usually following discussions, debates, or election campaigns. Democracies elect holders of high office by voting.

What are the voting requirements?
- US citizen
- 18 years of age
- never convicted of a felony
- registration delivered no more than 30 days before election day
- ssn is required
- issued photo ID required
What are the jury duty requirements?
- US citizen
- resident of TN
- resident of Williamson County for at least 12 months
- 18 years and older
- have not served as a juror in the previous 24 months
- have not been convicted of perjury, a felony, etc.
What is a group seeking to control government through winning elections?
Political party
How are the political parties unique in the US?
The Democrat and Republican parties in the US are election-oriented rather than issue-oriented
