What is relief?
Relief is the height and steepness of land
What are the three ways to show relief on the map?
The three ways include colouring, contouring and conventional signs
Explain how we can use colouring to show the relief of a map
We use colours to show the relief and brown usually represents the Highlands and green usually represents the lowlands
Explain how we use contouring to show the relief of a place
We use contour lines to join the places with the same height
Explain how we use conventional signs to show the relief of a place
We use conventional signs of trigonometric stations and spot heights to show the exact height of a place
What is a vertical interval?
The vertical interval is the difference in height between two consecutive contour lines
