Colonization
The action or process of settling among and establishing control over the indigenous people of an area.
The physical act of setting up colonies in other countries or lands. Permanent settlers.
ex. the British setting up colonies in the US, Canada, Australia and India and forcing out native populations.
Imperialism
A policy of extending a country’s power and influence through diplomacy or military force.
Country policy to take over lands using force. Control and exploit resources.
