axis
An imaginary line that passes through Earth’s center and North and South poles, about which Earth rotates.
latitude
The distance north or south from the equator, measured in degrees.
solstice
The two days of the year on which the noon sun is directly overhead at either 23.5 degrees South or 23.5 degrees North. ( The longest and shortest days of the year )(December 21-22 and June 21-22)
vernal equinox
The day of the year that marks the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
autumnal equinox

spring tides
occur when the sun, earth, and moon are in line. The gravitational forces of the Moon and the Sun both contribute to the tides. They occur during the full moon and new moon
neap tides
are weak tides that occur when the gravitational forces of the Moon and the Sun are 90 degrees to one another (with respect to the Earth).
How does the Earth Orbit around the sun?
The Earth orbits around the Sun counter-clockwise starting with winter on the right, and summer on the left (for the northern hemisphere).
