Unit 2: Polynomials Flashcards
Zero Product Property
For any real numbers A and B, if AB = 0, then A = 0 or B = 0, or both A = 0 and B = 0.
Zero Product Property
The zero product property states that if the product of two real numbers is zero, then either one, or both, of those numbers must be zero.
For any real numbers A and B, if AB = 0, then A = 0 or B = 0, or both A = 0 and B = 0.
Roots
The solutions to polynomial equations.
Polynomial Function
A polynomial function is a function in which the function rule is a polynomial in one variable, such as f(x)=x2−x−6.
Zero of a Function
A zero of a function is an input that makes the output equal to 0.
It is a root of the equation f(x)=0.
The zeros are also the x-intercepts of the graph of the function.
