A period of technological and scientific progress that transformed the world’s economy
What are some requirements for an industrial revolution?

What were working conditions like for the middle class during the industrial revolution?
Conditions were poor:
- Child labor

The vast exchange of people, plants, animals, ideas, and diseases
What was the middle passage?
A trade route through the Atlantic, mainly for the purpose of transporting slaves from Africa to the Caribbean

- Depopulation in Africa
- Economies and government collapsed in Africa

What was the American Civil War?
A fight between the North and South of America, caused by the split between if slaves should be illegal
What was the Emancipation Proclomation?
A proclamation passed by Abraham Lincoln to free all slaves
What were the Jim Crow Laws?
Laws that required things to be “separate but equal”, such as schools for whites and schools for colored people, no cross race marriage
