Q

Describe the complete double circulatory system.

A

2 atria and 2 ventricles
oxygenated and deoxygenated blood don’t mix.
blood is pumped out at higher pressure
Right atrium connects to capillary bed in lung, which oxygenates the blood.
The newly oxygenated blood flows back into the heart through the left atrium.
The left ventricle pumps the oxygenated blood across the body (capillary bed in body tissue).
Deoxygenated blood flows back into the right atrium.

7
Q

Describe an incomplete double circulatory system.

A

2 atria and 1 ventricle
oxygenated and deoxygenated blood mix
the ventricle pumps blood to the capillary bed in the lungs and across the body.
left atrium receives oxygenated blood from lungs.
right atrium receives deoxygenated blood from the body

Q

Describe a single circulatory system.

A

1 atrium and 1 ventricle.
oxygenated and deoxygenated blood mixes
blood flows in a 1 way system
