unit 2, group 3: Sam, Yugjeet, and Lesli Flashcards
1
Q
Phase 1 cardiac cycle (with ECG)
A
Atrial Systole AV valves are open. Atria are depolarizing and pumping blood into ventricles. P wave & EDV is at the end.
2
Q
Phase 2
A
Isovolumetric contraction- AV valves close due to more pressure in the ventricles. Ventricular depolarization and QRS complex.
3
Q
Phase 3
A
Rapid ejection increase pressure open semi lunar valves ventricles still depolarizing.
4
Q
Phase 4
A
Reduced ejection which gives us our stroke volume. End of ventricular systole.
5
Q
phase 5
A
Isovolumeteric relaxation S2 here due to closing of semi lunar valves. End systolic volume.
6
Q
Phase 6
A
Rapid ventricular filling- increase pressure of venous blood open AV valve and atria and ventricles fill with blood.
