arc
A portion of a circle
area
A measurement made by multiplying length times width. The value is given in square units (square feet or square meters, for example).
circumference
The perimeter around a circle.
decimal fraction
A fraction with a denominator that is 10 or a multiple of 10
denominator
The bottom number in a fraction.
diameter
The length of a line running between two points on a circle, through the center of the circle.
improper fraction
A fraction in which the numerator is larger than the denominator.
mixed number
A number that consists of a whole number and a proper fraction.
numerator
The top number in a fraction.
pi
The ratio of circumference of a circle to its diameter, equal to 3.1416. Used when determining the area of a circle.
proper fraction
A fraction that has a numerator smaller than its denominator.
radius
The distance from the center of a circle to the edge of the circle.
