Q

O2 Path?

A
  1. Decreased O2 Levels
  2. Increased work of heart + lungs 2 compensate
  3. Heart + lungs become over worked
  4. Decreased 02 in the bloodstream (HYPOXEMIA)
  5. Decreased O2 in tissues (HYPOXIA) which occurs within four mins of decreased O2
  6. = CELL DEATH

Q

Who may require oxygen?

A
  • Clients who may not be able to get enough O2 in the body = B.I. or decreased LOC

Q

What O2 delivery systems are HIGH flow

A
  1. Venturi Mask

2. Aerosol Mark

17
Q

What are the characteristics of Low Flow?

A

Doesn’t deliver specific FiO2.

Maybe not require humidification

18
Q

What are the characteristics of High Flow?

A

Delivers specific FiO2.

Requires humidification
