what is shock caused by
A
change in blood flow that alters perfusion (blood flow) to the cells. caused by pump failure, fluid loss from damaged vessels, and pipe failure.

general signs of shock
A
confusion, restlessness, anxiety, cold, clammy, pale, agitated, thirst, rapid-weak pulse.

how should you treat shock
A
lay the patient supine (unless they have difficulty breathing). elevate legs, monitor LOR + CAB, keep warm, do not feed.

how do traction splints work
A
only for legs. pull leg into straight position to ensure bones are not cutting off circulation in legs.
