Why do Catholics pray?
- They want a relationship with God
- Hesus said Christians should pray
- The Catechism says Christians should pray
- Contemplative and meditative prayers can bring inner peace
- Their prayer life helps them have a healthy emotinal life
Why is worship in the home important?
This is the heart of people’s lives and worshipping as a family brings the family together
Why is private worship important?
Allows someone to communicate with God one to one and express private emotions a person cannot express in front of others
Why is public worship important?
Worshipping with others in church, especially at Mass, gives a sense of belonging to a whole community of believers
Why is worship at set times important?
It gives order and purpose to people’s religious life and means worship is never forgotten
Why is joyful worship important?
Worship needs to be able to reflect people’s moods
Why is serious worship important?
People need to worship God when they are thinking about the meaning of life, such as during Lent and at sad times like death
