The combined name for the base and its exponent
Power
In multiplication, add the exponents of like bases
Product of powers
When raising a product to a power, multiply the power by each exponent of the product

In division, subtract the powers of like bases
Quotient of powers
When raising a fraction to power, multiply the exponents in both the numerator and denominator by the power
Power of a quotient
Any nonzero value raised to the power of zero is equal to one
Power of zero
Any nonzero value raised to a negative power is equal to the reciprocal of the same value raised to the positive power

A way of writing very large or very small numbers as the product of a number between one and 10, usually with two decimal places integral power of 10
Scientific notation
Another name for monomial, consists of up to 3 parts (coefficient, base, exponent)
