Unit 10 Block & Nested ANOVA Flashcards
A randomized block design is
A mixed 2-way ANOVA with one fixed factor used for main effects and more than two levels and one random factor (blocking factor)
Nested ANOVA
Acts in the same way as one-way ANOVA but with one factor nested within the other.
two questions nested ANOVA tests
Are there differences caused by the main factor
Are there differences caused by the replicates
There is no possible interaction terms
Assumptions of Nested ANOVA
The populations from which samples were taken are normally distributed
Homogeneity of variance
Homogeneity of variance is
the population variances (i.e., the distribution, or “spread,” of scores around the mean) of two or more samples are considered equal.
