the significance of ritual

A
  • before the protestant reformation (began around 1517), were loyal to the catholic church
  • reformation was critical of catholic church and his corrupt state, they thought catholicism was too indulgent
  • up until the reformation, people had the same rituals (religious variations) as they followed the same belief system (holy days/celebrations)
