5-minute action
Action comes before motivation. Action busts us out of procrastination. Action is empowering, satisfying, and evidence.
Difficult, Difficult v. Difficult, easy
DD = unfamilar challenges that involve growth and add value; DE = familiar challenges that are pointless and you don’t learn anything.
Nutritional Level
Categorization of clients based on their nutritional goals, knowledge, skills, and consistent actions.
Motivation
Is unreliable. Usually comes after action.
Ambivalence (to change)
Mixed feelings (about change)
Client-centered Coaching
Coaching where the clients needs come first: unconditional positive regard, full presence and engagement, observation, understanding, solutions and strengths mindset, appropriate progression, appropriate regression, practice what you preach, communicate, humor

Biopsychosocial Perspective
Combined biological, psychological, and social understanding of a person and their environment.
Deep Health
The whole person, wholelife approach to health that involves the six primary dimensions: physical, mental, emotional, existential, relational, social and environment
Social determinants of health
Relationship between peoples environment and their wellbeing
Anemia
Not enough healthy red blood cells or hemoglobin, often related to low iron levels or overtraining.
Rhabdomyolysis
Destruction of muscle fibers, leading to release of contents into the blood.
Hyponatremia
Too much water in the body relative to sodium

Protein involved in cell signaling

Blood clotting and swelling up in tissues

Misperception of one’s body size or shape, usually negative
Mind-body scan
Go to quiet place. Scan your body head to toe. Notice physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts. Good exercise to open meetings.

Allows coach to understand deepest motivations of client.
