Unit 1 List 1 Graphing EMB Flashcards
Observation
an act or instance of noticing or perceiving and the acquisition of information from a primary source
Data
a gathered body of facts.
Variable
factors that are manipulated or changed throughout the experiment in order to test a hypothesis
Precision
how close measurements of the same item are to each other
Accuracy

Variable
factors that are manipulated or changed throughout the experiment in order to test a hypothesis.
Infer
the process of drawing conclusions based on evidence and reasoning
Independent
the variable you manipulate, control, or vary in an experimental study to explore its effects.
Dependent variable
what you measure in the experiment and what is affected during the experiment.
Line Graph
visualize trends among dense data sets
Bar Graph
used to compare the frequency of a category or characteristic with that of another category or characteristic.
Pie Graph
A circle divided into sectors that represent the percentages of a population or a sample that belongs to different categories
Scatter plot
identifies a possible relationship between changes observed in two different sets of variables
