what is a lock screen?
appears with the time and date when the computer is first started or left unattended for a while and the purpose is it pops up to protect your information from other people
what are gestures
actions taken with your fingertips directly on the screen
examples- swiping or tapping
what is a task view
a feature used to manage all open windows- displays mini windows, the button is next to the search box
what is a virtual desktop
allows users to work with multiple desktops even with a single monitor, great for multitasking, multiple desktops are great for keeping unrelated, ongoing projects organized, or for quickly switching desktops before a meeting
how do you create multiple desktops
-on the taskbar, select Task view> New desktop
-open the apps you want to use on that desktop
-to switch between desktops, select Task View again
what is a live tile
tiles showing continuously updated( dynamic) content

application software that lets you perform certain tasks on the computer
what is a taskbar
located at the bottom of the desktops; displays icons providing shortcuts to apps, a start button, and a search box
