What is routine maintenance?
General upkeep on a regular basis that requires minimal skill or training.
What is a preventive maintenance?
Help prevent unexpected failures in the future. Maintenance may include inspections, lubrications, minor repairs, adjustments, and work order initiations.
What is a guestroom maintenance?
Operations with guestrooms and a form of preventive maintenance. May include inspection of furniture, fixtures, and equipments, lubrication of doors, and initiation of a work order for more substantial problems.
What is a predictive maintenance?
Major maintenance that requires advanced planning as it requires a signifcant amount of time to perform. This will require specialized toold and equopments and a high level of coordination amoung departments is necessary.

What is a contract maintenance?
- Desire to minimize the commitment of staff on payroll

What are the budget responsibilites of the Facilities Management department?
- Utilities: Electricity, fuel, steam, water.
- POM Accounts: maintenance labour costs and benefit costs, supplies and expeditures, contract and maintenance expenses.
- CapEX: furnitires, fixtures, and equipments.
What is CapEX?
A captial spending. The amount spent to acquire or upgrade assets in order to increase the capacity or efficiency of a company for more than one accounting period.
