Understanding human geography and mapping
How would you define human Geography?
Human geography is a branch of geography dealing with how human activity affects the earths surface
what is absolute location?
Absolute location is the exact point where an area is located. This is often found with longitude and latitude coordinates
what is relative location?
Relative location is found while using different areas around the place you are trying to locate.
What is mental mapping?
Mental mapping is a person point of view of what they think there looks like. These maps often aren’t that accurate
what do we use mental maps for?
Mental maps can be used for explaining a way from point A to Point B
They can also be used fro storing ideas, and organizing them for future reference
They are also used to find meaning. by comparing them to others work
How is activity space perceived in human Geography
Activity space is the places you go to in your daily cycle
What is cartography?
Cartography is the science behind map making
What purposes do maps serve?
Maps serve 2 main purposes, One of them is that maps are used as a reference point to identify an objects relative or absolute location. They are also used for communicating distribution of human activities around the world.
What are the 3 types of maps?
Political, Physical, and mental maps
What are political maps?
Political maps are used to show borders and political boundaries of different locations.
