causes of WW1
Define Militarism
1) the need to develop or maintain a very strong military power in order to maintain power.
2) Military seen as the way to resolve conflicts, is good way to handle foreign policy and politics
Define Alliances
a union or association formed for mutual benefit
Define Imperialism
1) the act of occupying other countries to build an empire, increasing power through taking over internal relations (political force) or military force
2) taking a country by military force and exploiting it for resources

support for own country’s interests and sovereignty, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations. What your country to be the best ever

1) Triple Alliance: germany + Austria-Hangary + Italy
2) Triple Entente: Britain + France + Russia
How did Imperialism contribute to WW1?
1) Competition to steal land, in which Germany is late
2) France wants revenge for french land owned by Germany
3) Russia wants to protect Serbia
4) A.H wants to punish Serbia

Explain how the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand triggered WW1. Include dates, people.
Serbian Gavrilo Princip murdered A.H throne in Bosnia, Serbia (1914), made A.H mad, A.H has alliance with Germany so they declare war on Serbia, Germany declares war on Russia because they are Serbia’s ally so they invade France, Russia’s other ally, so Britain, France’s ally, declares war on Germany. There were already tensions, but this assassination triggered WW1.
