=increase interconnectedness of world
the sharing of resources in trade increases relationships between countries and CONTAINERISATION opens up the world in terms of a market
-larger TNCs spreading takes away sense of meaning for a place
-> CLONE TOWN but places resist change from independence

A

=idea that the world is becoming smaller due to increased interconnectedness/communications and flows of goods becoming faster + more reliable
-> dislocation from place grew up in as decrease diversity of all shops HERMOGENISED PLACES

A

-have own flag/symbolism/football stadium that is a representation of catalan independence
HAVE PAST CONNECTIONS WITH DISTINCT HISTORY AND CULTURE
-‘trencadis’= brocken tile mosaics by Gaudi create national pride + farmhouses called ‘maises’ for agricultural production + family communications
-‘arros negre’ uses squid ink to flavour rice
-‘castells’ human towers from 18th century/folklife festivals
35% use Catalan as their main language
