Uncertainty Flashcards

1
Q

how can you reduce uncertainties in a titration

A
  • replace measuring cylinders with pipettes or burette which have a lower apparatus uncertainty will lower the error
  • in a burette reading :
make the titre a larger volume .
By increasing the volume and conc of the substance in the conical flask or by decreasing conc of substance in the burette

Q

how can you reduce uncertainty in measuring mass

A
  • using a more accurate balance or larger mass will reduce uncertainty in weighing a solid
  • weighing sample before and after passion and then calculating difference will ensure a more accurate measurement of mass added
