Q

how do high expectations create unachievable targets?

A

if a target is set to high it may become unachievable. people will be reluctant to start the plan if they feel like they can not succeed at their goal. they may give up when they fail to see progress towards their target.

Q

how does having too many targets create unachievable targets?

A
  • multiple targets are overwhelming. people don’t know where to start if they are expected to change different aspects of their lifestyle all at once
  • stopping smoking, reducing alcohol intake and losing weight at the same time could be unachievable
