What are the aims of the UN
A
To keep peace throughout the world
To develop friendly relations between nations
To work together to help people live better lives ect.
To be a centre for helping nations achieve these goals

What is the power of the UN
A
The general assembly has little influence, though it can debate any issue, adopt resolutions and vote on the UN budget. This is because it’s resolutions are non-binding.
The security council may require UN members to apply sanctions against any state that the council has found to be guilty of threatening peace, or of an act of aggression, or failure to observe a ruling by the ICJ. The security council controls peacekeeping forces.
