which nerve(s) move when performing ULNT1?

A

radial, ulnar, median, brachial plexus, spinal nerves and cervical nerve roots (almost all nerves between neck and hand).

Note this test is particularily useful for the median nerve.

A
  • symptoms provoked with scapular depression
  • symptoms localized to median nerve
  • shoulder problem present, so want to avoid shoulder abduction (so use this in preference to ULNT1)

examples: anterior shoulder, axilla, medal forearm to hypothenar area, C8 radiculopathy, TOS, CuTS, Guyon’s canal syndrome
