Rinse or gargle with 15ml every 1 and a 1/2 hours as required
Spit it out after rinsing
Can be diluted with water if it stings
No longer than 7 days

Lidocaine ointment 5%
Send 15g
Rub sparingly and gently on affected areas
- avoid anaesthesia of the pharynx before eating as can lead to choking

50mcg / puff
2 puffs, 2-4 times per day with vent directed at ulcers
Do not rinse afterwards
Small risk of candida infection

0.5mg tablets
1 tablet dissolved in 10ml water as mouthwash
4 times per day
Spit out after use and do not swallow
Prescription for hydrocortisone oromucosal tablets?
Tablets are 2.5mg
1 tablet dissolved next to lesion 4 times per day
Mechanism of action of betamethasone/beclomethasone?
Binds to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors
Alters gene expression leading to inhibited transcription of inflammatory mediators such as cytokines
Inhibits activity of immune cells
