Q

Why is the application of bandha in asana so important to a Yoga student today and in what way has it changed your practice?

A

Western focus of Bandha as a means to apply muscular contraction to protect/support the physical body and joints to reduce the risk of injury and to improve the individual āsana and vinyasa during a Yoga class.
