UH-72 RFM Flashcards
Define Height-Velocity Envelope
5.1.9
The diagram shows the area which is critical for helicopter operation in the event of a single engine failure during takeoff, landing, or other operation near the ground.
The curves are applicable for landing sites with smooth firm surfaces and define the conditions in which a safe landing can be made after an engine suddenly becomes inoperative.
Rotor brake limitations
9.2-58-3 2.1
The rotor brake shall not be applied until both engines are shut down and rotor RPM has dropped below 50%
Do not apply the rotor brake at temperatures below -30°C
Allow for a minimum cooling period of 10 minutes before next application of rotor brake
NOTE if an emergency stop of the rotor is necessary, apply rotor brake anytime after both engines are shut down. Before next application of the rotor brake after an emergency stop, maintenance action is required.
Maximum autorotation airspeed and maximum range airspeed
3.4.18
90 KIAS
Minimum autorotation airspeed and minimum rate-of-descent airspeed
3.4.18
60 KIAS
Maximum forward airspeed with hinged doors in open spoiler position and sliding doors closed, open or removed is______ KIAS or VNE whichever is less.
9.1-2-4 2.3
100 KIAS
Minimum height for hands-off and feet-off operation during T/O and approach
9.2-1-12 2.3
200 ft AGL
Minimum height for hands-off and feet-off operation in cases other than T/O and approach
9.2-1-12 2.3
500 ft AGL
Rotor RPM warning conditions/indications
3-9 3.2.1
NRO low - 95% or less, steady light and low pitch beeping tone
NRO high - 106% or above, flashing light and warning gong
NRO high- 110% or above, flashing light and steady high pitch tone
Airspeed limit AEO FLI
