What are the 2 types of cancer?
malignant and benign
What are 4 main catergories of cancer?
CARCINOMA : cancer that begins in the skin or in tissues that line or cover internal organs
II. SARCOMA : cancer that begins in bone, cartilage, fat, muscle, blood vessels, or other connective or supportive tissue
III. LEUKEMIA : cancer that starts in blood-forming tissue such as the bone marrow and causes large numbers of abnormal blood cells to be produced and enter the blood
IV. LYMPHOMA : cancers that begin in the cells of the immune system
What is a biopsy?
a small piece of tissue is removed from an area so that it can be looked at closely under a microscop
What are the high risk countries for cancer?
Why are they high risk?
Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, oral cancer is the most common cancer in men, and may contribute up to 25% of all new cases of cancer
