- -Schools hold many meetings per year but don’t usually give parents opportunity to initiate communication

- -Should be valued for work
- -Parent or Community file can be created by school to list all expertise or hobbies of parents or community members that can be shared with school
- -Parents can visit schools to talk about careers or hobbies
- -Makes students aware of connection between education & work
