Describe SIDS
A
- Unexplained death, usually during sleep of a seemingly healthy baby less then a year old

Safest and recommended way to put a baby to sleep
A
- Placing baby in back
- Firm mattress and bare crib
- Sleep in parents room (in own crib)
- Don’t overheat baby

How to keep baby warm
A
- Sleep sack/clothing that doesn’t require additional blankets

Why are adult beds not safe for infants?
A
- Baby can become trapped and suffocate between headboard mattress, etc.
- Parents can also accidentally block babies airway

A
- Breastfeeding for at least 6 months reduced the risk of SIDS
