A
Flexible system, works well for batch production. Similar equipment and skilled workers are arranged in their own workstations.

Cellular layout
A
Small, self contained manufacturing cells for batch production of varianst within a family of similar components or products. Highly trained workers that are familiar with all product variants.

Matrix arrangement
A
Like cellular layout but can be taken into diffferent cells which allows better utilisation of high cost equipment.
