Set of characters that share common characteristics
Font

Leading
The amount of vertical space between lines of type

Point size
The height of the type body
Serif
Small strokes on the arms, stems and tails of characters

Ascender
Part of the lowercase letter that rises above the main body of the letter
Baseline
The imaginary line upon which the text rests
Descender
The lower portion of letters that extends below the baseline
X-height
The height of lowercase letters which do not have ascenders and descenders
Tracking
Overall spacing of a group of letter
