  • reduce positive symptoms (decrease DA in mesolimbic)
  • lower risk of metabolic syndrome

SE: EPS- parkinsonism, akathesia, acute dystonia, tardive dyskinesia, neuroleptic malignant syndrome (muscle rigidity, fever, autonomic instability, and cognitive changes such as delirium, and is associated with elevated plasma creatine phosphokinase)
