secondary effects of Typhoon Haiyan?

leak/fishing/rice/harvest season

there was a 800,000 litre oil leak, most washed ashore, contamination 10 hectares of mangroves (a type of tree)

fishing has to stop due to contaminated waters, likelihood of infection increased

harvest season just needed before Typhoon Haiyan hit. survivors looted for food and water. by 2014, rice prices increased

what are secondary effects?

example of a primary effect (immediate response) and secondary effect of typhoon Haiyan

A

secondary effects follow after primary effects e.g list primary effect and then write that was the outcome of the primary effect (secondary effect). After the typhoon struck, there was 400mm of flooding (primary effect) which lead to 1km inland to be flooded, this lead to 1.1 million tonnes of crops to be destroyed. Survivors were looting for food and water supplies. Before the typhoon struck, the harvest season had just ended. By 2014, rice prices has increased by 11.9%
