What is traction?
A
Used for transporting the largest material. This is too heavy to lose contact with the bed so material such as boulders are rolled along the river bed

What is saltation?
A
It moves the small stones and grains of sand by bouncing them along the bed in a hopping motion

What is suspension?
A
Carrying very fine material within the water so that it floats in the river and is moved as water flows

What is solution?
A
The dissolved load an occurs only with certain type of rock that are soluble in rainwater. The load is not visible.
