Types Of Testing Flashcards
Discuss Lumbar Active ROM including where to stand and the degrees of movement.
Flexion - 90, stand laterallly
Extension - 30, stand laterally
Lateral Flexion - 35, stand in front
Rotation - 30, stand in front
Describe how to preform the Gillet Knee Bending Test.
Pt is standing, we are checking the ilium for Flexion and extension.
- Find iliac crest follow posterior, medially, and inferiority to PSIS. Then move left thumb medially to S2 tubercle. From there have the pt raise right knee (like marching). We are looking for our right thumb to go posterior, inferior and medially (PIM) as the ilium flexes.
- Lastly, set up the same way, and have pt drag their right/left foot back on the floor. This should push the PSIS anterior, superior, and lateral (ASL). This means the ilium is extending.
Discuss how to preform the Adam’s test.
- Have pt locate anterior side of hip (ASIS), and ask to replace contact with theirs. Put hip into pt back side and have them reach for their toes.
*If pain is still radiating from lumbar then it is a lumbar issue, if pain dissipates then the pts pelvis is the issue.
Discuss the degrees of motion for the cervical ROM and where to stand.
Flexion - 60, stand laterally
Extension - 75, stand laterally
Lat Flexion - 45, stand in front
Rotation - 80, stand in front
When preforming the Gillet knee bend test a pt does not flex the knee all the way. This is?
Flexion limitation
*same would go for extension
