Exclamative
Exclamations used to express strong emotions or assertions
Minor sentences
complete and meaningful statements that don’t have a subject and verb combination. E.G. Be quiet
Simple sentences
must have a subject and a verb, should express a complete thought and only contain one clause. E.G. I remember it well
Compound sentences
with two or more main independent clauses usually joined by one of the conjunctions and, or, but. E.G. Last week I went to Cardiff BUT it was closed
Complex sentences
consists of a main clause and one or more subordinate clauses usually joined together by a subordinate conjunction (because).
Compound-complex sentences
made up of at least two coordinate clauses connected by a coordinating conjunction, and at least one subordinate clause.
