external reliability
the consistency of the study’s findings. would the same findings be found if the study was repeated
split half method
compare the score from one half of the question to the score of the other half of the questions to see if they consistently scored in bot halves
test-retest method
give participants the same test at a different point in time to check if scores are consistent
inter-rater reliability
two or more observers would observe behaviour and compare results to see if they are consistent. 0.8 or higher is good inter rater reliability
