result of damage to the brain tissue, can be caused by injury to the brain, uncontrolled syphillis or longterm heavy use of drugs and alcohol
organic psychosis
extreme mood changes beyond range of what is considered normal, has a manic stage and depressed stage
manic depression

confused or aggressive behaviour, exaggerated gaiety that may appear to be more of desperation, may appear to have unlimited energy and trouble sleeping
depressed stage
extreme fatigue and sadness, confused or aggressive behaviour, withdrawn, may stop reacting to the environment, may feel completely lost with themselves and consider suicide
complex mental disease that occurs in 1 in every 100 people, most common in 17-19 y/o
symptoms:
- emotionally flat (may fail to respond in given situation appropriately)
- lose contact and interest in people, environment and reality
- have perpetual disorders, hallucinations, delusions
- inconsistent illogical, strange associations
- strange fantasies and mannerisms
