What is a personal computer?
A computer that is designed for general use by an individual for tasks
What tasks can be used on a PC?
word processing, web browsing, playing video games

Desktop and Laptop
What are desktops?
Are larger machines that are designed to stay in one place (like on a desk in your home office)
What are laptops?
Are smaller and more portable machines which you can take with you when you travel.
What are the components of a PC?
CPU (Central Processing Unit) containing the arithmetic, logic and control circuitry on a single integrated circuit (IC).
RAM (Random Access Memory) and read only memory (ROM).
Hard disk drive (HDD)
Various I/O devices including:
Display screen (monitor), keyboard and mouse.
What are the features of a PC?
A variety of input/output ports that allow you to connect them to other devices like USB ports that you can use to connect external storage devices, keyboards, mice, and other peripherals. Also typically have an HDMI port so you can connect them to a TV or monitor for gaming or watching movies.
They can be customised & upgraded by replacing various hardware components, such as: The CPU, RAM, storage device or graphics card.
