NOUN phrases:

a noun phrase is a noun and its adjectives (plus determiner such as ‘the’ ‘an’ ‘a’ or a pronoun like ‘my’ our’ too (but not obligatory).

a verb ‘string’ it can include a number of verbs and adverbs (but no subject).
