Q

frictional force

A

-contact force which resists motion

-friction is produced Between two rough surfaces in contact because of irregularities and or projections on the surfaces

-results in wear and tear

-produces heat

-causes of friction: Friction is caused by points of contact on the surfaces. It is obstructing movement and by molecular forces of attraction at these points of contact

ways of reducing friction

-Makes surfaces smoother
-Use a loop to cut, such as oil or grease.
-Use wheels or rollers
-fitball bearings on axles
- streamline shapes of vehicles
