FORCES Flashcards
force
push or pull that one object exerts on another object which csn chanhe the state of rest or uniform motion of an object
effects of forcces
change the shape and size of the object
makes stationary objects move
speed up (acceleration)
slow down (deceleration)
stop moving objects
change the direction of moving objects
intertia
the tendancy of an object to remain in its state of rest or motion, in a straight line unless acted upon by a force
netwons first law
an object at rest Will stay at rest and a moving object will continue moving at constant speed in a straight line. Unless acted upon by an external resultant force.(law of intertia)
newtons 2nd law
The force is directly proportional to the rate or change of momentum
netwons 3rd law
If an object A exerts a force on object B, the object B will exert an equal and opposite force on object A.
