Fast-Food Service
Customers order at a counter and are given their food straight away
(Good is being cooked all the time)
Self-Service
Customer serve food themselves
Take-Away Service
- customers order at a counter and wait for it to be cooked, then take it to eat somewhere else
- Some take-aways deliver
Waited Service (table service)
Waiter and waitress’s take orders and deliver their food
Restaurants, cafés, hotels
Plate Service
The presentation of a meal is done by the chef and are then brought out to the customer by a waiter
Gueridon Service
The chef finishes the cooking or carving at the customers table
Buffet Service
Each customer pays a fixed price and takes their food from a buffet table
Calvert Service
Each customer pays a fixed price to queue up and be served meat
(veg, gravy and sauces separately)
Vended Service
Vending machines are found in places where customers may want food and drink at any time of the day
Travel Service
Food is cooked elsewhere, chilled and then transported to the plan, then to be reheated on the planes to be served
Cafeteria Service
Customers are served ready-made food at a counter.
