Sexual Delusion
the client believes that his or her sexual behavior is known to others
Nihilistic Delusion
delusion that things don’t exist and that everything is unreal
Referential Delusion
belief that gestures and words of others are specifically directed at them
Unspecified Delusion
no one delusional theme predominates and the patient presents with two or more types of delusions
Religious Delusion
the central theme often centers around the second coming of Christ or another significant religious figure/prophet
Grandiose Delusion
the central theme is that the client is associated with famous people and is capable of great feats
Dorian Gray
the central theme is that others are aging while the client appears to remain the same age
Capgras’ Syndrome
the central theme is that a significant other, usually a family member, has been replaced by an identical impostor
Persecutory Delusion
the central theme is the patient’s belief that he or she is being conspired against, cheated, spied on, followed, poisoned, drugged, maliciously maligned, harassed, or obstructed
Erotomaniac Delusion
belief that the patient is loved intensely by the loved object, who is usually married or of a higher socioeconomic status or otherwise unattainable
Somatic Delusion
the central theme involves functional sensations, a false belief that there is a physical ailment
Jealous Delusion
the central theme of this is the unfaithfulness of a spouse or a lover
